These are my hiking buddies. If you see me on the trail, at least one of them will be close by, unless I'm on a lesser mountain. They are great people who each bring something special to the table and when one of them is not part of the group something is missing. I am proud to call them my friends and hope that they stay healthy enough to be there on the last mountain. I owe them a great deal of thanks.

My name is Eric, and since I was the last one to join the group I have a lot of catching up to do as far as summits go. Most of the mountains I will have to summit, these guys have already done. The only major summit I've climbed before this year in NH was Mt. Washington, it was an annual climb for me in HS. I was absent from hiking for a while during the college years. It wasn't until I visited my friend, who worked in the hills of Tennessee, 'till I saw another 4000 footer peak. Chimney Tops(4840ft), in the Smokey's, was an excellent climb. A 4 mile, up and back, peak that had some great vertical exposed rock hiking. It also had a few river crossings, which is always a plus in my book. It was there where I realized how much I missed hiking. After that I took every chance I could to hike which was only once or twice a year. It wasn't until this year that I got invited to an overnight hike with these fine gentlemen and thankfully was invited back...I caught the hiking 'bug'.

I saw it as a chance to get to know some great people, get into better shape and start a more healthy lifestyle. Before I new it I was buying hiking boots, gaiters, a backpack, a stove, special biodegradable toilet paper and hiking apparel. As an amateur photographer and webmaster, I thought that this would be a perfect way to give back to those who I have taken from.
